Figure Skating in Detroit

Figure Skating in Detroit is an expansion of the 25-year-old Figure Skating in Harlem program model, an organization for girls of color that combines education with access to the discipline of figure skating. The girls learn technique, improve self-esteem and develop a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness through skating.

The off-the-ice curriculum is designed to enhance study habits, promote positive social and emotional skills, teach communication and literacy skills, introduce financial literacy and STEM concepts and promote good health and nutrition.
